Earlier this year, Megan Elizabeth Events and photographer Esther Griffin teamed up to create a stunning shoot at Beaulieu, looking to create a classic wedding editorial with a twist. Located south of downtown Savannah, this private family home is open to a limited number of weddings and events each year. Beaulieu is one of the most beautiful spots in the Low Country, and the old moss-covered oaks will take your breath away!
The ceremony took place on the lawn, where a large oak tree dripping in Spanish Moss set the background. Harvey Designs created the most incredible ceremony backdrop, where large greenery covered in blooms surrounded the couple. It allowed the breathtaking scenery to take center stage while adding a touch of color.
As a memento to family members, our Willow Buffet Table featured heirloom family wedding photos and topped with large floral arrangements. For a fun take on a guest book, a set of vinyl records sat on top of the Mahogany Buffet, and above hung a centerpiece that looked like it was being held by the soft Spanish moss. Drinks were set aside on our Brighton Buffet to bring in the blood orange inspiration. The Arched Wall Set with Shelves had champagne glasses, perfect for cocktail hour.
For the cocktail hour, Megan designed multiple lounges using some of our favorite rentals. Layered rugs created a sense of intimacy on the large lawn. The Rio Sofa, which is a beautiful blue velvet, was flanked on both sides by our Stefan Chairs, which are modern but tie in well with our vintage pieces. The cognac velvet and polished gold tied into the color palette of soft golds and purples.
For the second seating area, the soft blue velvet was tied in with a set of the Lynn Chairs. The soft buttercup yellow was brought in with the lovely Clementine Bench, which is always a favorite of our couples. These lounges highlight how you can mix and match pieces and colors, and still create a cohesive look. In our inventory, we have many chairs and benches that can easily be designed for any palette or style.
As Megan told us, “With a styled shoot, you can really lean into going big, maybe a little more exaggerated than a typical bridal couple would choose to do for their wedding day, we were able to go elaborate on all fronts and showcase the talents of our fellow vendors, and by sharing the images and film, we hope to spark creativity as future couples plan their wedding days.”
